Matteo Bianciotto is the Interim Head of Policy at the ¹û¶³´«Ã½ (IHA), where he leads the organisation¹û¶³´«Ã½ global policy engagement to promote sustainable hydropower and accelerate the clean energy transition.

Over the past 15 years, Matteo has built a career that connects engineering, finance, and international policy. He began his professional journey in research and development, designing and testing hydropower turbines in Switzerland before moving into the financial sector, where he spent several years advising on complex energy transactions, valuations, and regulatory issues.

Today, at IHA, he brings together this technical and financial insight to help shape global energy and climate policy.
In his time at IHA, Matteo has advanced international initiatives to strengthen the role of hydropower and energy storage in achieving net zero targets. He works closely with governments, development banks, and international institutions to build consensus and foster collaboration on sustainable energy development worldwide.

Matteo holds a Master¹û¶³´«Ã½ degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic of Turin and a Master¹û¶³´«Ã½ in Energy Management from ESCP Business School. He is fluent in English, Italian, French, and Spanish.
